Little Dorrit – A Dickensian Drama For BBC One

BBC Drama Productions have announced the commission of a large-scale, ambitious adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic Little Dorrit, to be written by acclaimed writer Andrew Davies for BBC One. Following in the triumphant footsteps of Cranford and Sense And Sensibility, Little Dorrit tells the story of the Dorrit family and the rich array of characters they encounter on their way from rags to riches and back again.

LARK RISE TO CANDLEFORD GETS SECOND SEASON

The BBC has announced a second series of the long-running Sunday night drama Lark Rise To Candleford. The series stars Julia Sawalha, Olivia Hallinan, Dawn French, Brendan Coyle, Olivia Grant, Mark Heap, Ben Miles and Liz Smith in Bill Gallagher's adaptation of Flora Thompson's magical memoir of her Oxfordshire childhood.

NEW ITV COMMISSIONS

Director of Drama for ITV, Laura Mackie, has just announced three new drama commissions for ITV1; they will form part of the Autumn season, alongside powerful single dramas and original new series. Whitechapel stars Rupert Penry Jones in a crime drama with a difference. The Children stars Kevin Whately, Geraldine Somerville and Lesley Sharp in Lucy Gannon’s new domestic thriller. And Sharpe starring Sean Bean is back for a brand new adventure set in India.

WHAT'S NEW SCOOBY DOO SEASON THREE

With season three of this classic animation just released we have three copies to give away. ITV'S NEW SCHEDULE FOR 2008 AND THE RETURN OF NEWS AT TEN

ITV today unveiled a new look schedule for its flagship channel, ITV1, with increased focus on week day peak time hours and a revitalised weekend line up. The main revisions to the ITV1 Winter 2008 schedule include: • The return of News at Ten • More 60 minute dramas at 21.00 • More comedy, drama and entertainment Friday to Sunday • Coronation Street and Emmerdale move from Sunday evenings • Dancing On Ice moves to Sunday night • More investment in acquired programming post 22.30 It has been confirmed today that News At Ten will return to ITV1 from Monday 14th January. As well as returning an iconic and much loved ITV brand to the heart of peak, this move allows ITV to invest further in original, hour long drama at 9pm. This month sees the launch of a number of new titles in this slot including The Palace, a contemporary drama set in a fictional Buckingham Palace; interlinked comedy and soap Moving Wallpaper and Echo Beach, and Honest, a new six part comedy drama starring Amanda Redma
